Useful Appliance Tips

Crown Appliance will always be there when you need us for any kind of appliance repair, but keep these easy maintenance tips in mind to extend the life of your appliances and to ensure maximum  performance

REFRIGERATOR

-Always keep the coils under your refrigerator clean for best efficiency

-Wipe any spills from the surfaces where door gaskets seal
Stuff can get sticky and cause door gaskets to tear

DRYER

-For best efficiency, always clean the lint filter after each load.

-Make sure the vent hose in the back of the dryer is free of restrictions

WASHING MACHINE

-There should always be a fine meshed screen in the hoses at the faucet that supplies your water. Clean screens as necessary

-To prevent mold, mildew and odor, leave lid or door open to washer when not in use

-To prevent major damage to your washer and an expensive repair, never wash any type of rug in your washer. Heavy fabric can overload the machine and break stuff. Rubber backing and plush fabrics can also plug up the pump.

DRYER

-For best efficiency, always clean the lint filter after each load.

-Make sure the vent hose in the back of the dryer is free of restrictions

DISHWASHER

-Dishwasher detergents no longer contain phosphates. Many detergents that worked in the past, may now leave a hazy residue on your dishes. We recommend using “Cascade” products

RANGE

-To keep oven racks shiny, do not leave them in the oven when self-cleaning your range. Put oven cleaner on them and put them in a large garbage bag. After about an hour, rinse them off.

-Lining the bottom of your range with aluminum foil can affect the even heating of your oven and your cooking results

MICROWAVE OVEN (or any appliance with a touchpad)

-Never spray cleaner on the touchpad. Spray cleaner on a soft cloth then gently wipe the touchpad clean
